New Recycling Area

We are setting up a new recycling area under the pavillion. Right now we have just added a container for plastic, but as soon as we have some more trash cans, we will add something for the Terra Cycle Brigades. If anyone has a spare trash can with a lid (the kitchen trash cans are a good size) to donate, please contact Sue Wilson at billsue92@live.com. Please let your students know we are setting this up and that it is not for trash. THANK YOU!

"Glue Crew" Contest

The recyling committee will have our "glue crew" contest again. The class that collects the most glue sticks and glue bottles will win ice cream sandwiches! The contest winners will be decided during our Earth Day Fair, but the classes can continue to collect the glue bottles and glue sticks till the end of the year. These can be collected from home and from school. For further information click on the Elmer's Glue link in the side bar. Good Luck to all the classes!!!

Paper Recycling For The NCS Staff

This year at Neuse Charter School we will be able to recycle the paper generated from the school. One of our teachers, Ms. Berner, lives in Raleigh and will be able to take the paper (catalogs, white office paper, and newspapers) collected from the school to the Raleigh convenience center for us. This recycling is just for the staff at NCS. With the paper recycle, we are now recyling about 90% from the school! Thank You Ms. Berner!

Please Feed The Robots!!!

The Robots are back, and they are hungry! They also have a few new friends. Along with water bottles, bottle caps and aluminum cans, we will also be collecting Frito Lay bags (large and small), Nabisco bags (large and small), and juice pouches. These three items go to Terra Cycle, and the school gets 2 cents per item. It's fine to send the Frito Lay and Nabisco bags from home, but we are only collecting the juice pouches from the school. If you use these at home, please sign up with Terra Cycle. Also, we could use a few more volunteers to help with recycling the juice pouches at school. Please e-mail Sue Wilson at billsue92@live.com if you can help. There are specific instructions for signing up with Terra Cycle at the NCS website under the fundraising/recycling page.
